And it's less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't hold on well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle, however. If you want to, you can swap the mopping pad for dry ones in just a few just a few seconds.
2. IRobot Roomba X30
The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that can mop floors. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as nimble navigation make it easy to clean and effective in dealing with larger particles such as pet hair. It also supports voice commands using Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after it vacuums this feature, which we've not seen on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.
3. Roomba X40 from iRobot
With an elegant circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba than the competitors' compact models This robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive designs in our reviews. The latest model from iRobot is also the most intelligent. It comes with advanced features such as enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads on its own).
It's the only robot vacuum/mop that scored 100% in our tests due to a mix of high-tech sensors, including cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.
The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It comes with an intuitive mobile app interface that integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that the X40 is still a noisy unit. This could be a problem in the mornings before work, or in the evening when you're trying to sleep.
It's also quite expensive, but not as much as the Ecovacs MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are both equally impressive and attractive. This is a two-in-one vacuum that's very capable however it's more expensive and make more noise.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a lot of advanced features that will let you forget about your chores. Similar to Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-free cleaning machine that takes care of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multi-function dock that automatically empty the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, cleans and dry its mop pads.
The smart robot makes use of a combination of LIDAR and structured light to draw out floor plans and identify obstacles, making it more efficient than its top rivals. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time hazards detection, though this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was often confused with power cords or obstructions.
The vacuum cleaner comes with a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to accomplish the task. It also comes with a feature known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas in the house based on how dirty these areas are.

It also mopses with a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion, which cleans better than most of the other robot mop cleaners we've examined. It's also extremely self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self emptying base that is washable.
The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through an initial mapping exercise that collects information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you set on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, arrange a spot clean or to sort out your rooms with the most dirt to improve performance.
